INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM

ADOLESCENT MALES

In February 2007, the Gwinnett Children's Shelter opened a spacious, four bedroom home to house eight boys who need a place to grow into successful adults.  The young men in this program attend local school and have the opportunity to earn the privilege of holding a job, dating, participating in after school sports and activities.  They maintain contact with family, when appropriate, through on and off-site visits, passes, and agency provided family counseling and reconciliation work.   Youth will be able to live at this home until they transition to college or other independent living.
