Adolescent Girl's Independent Living Program Opens!!
The Gwinnett Children's Shelter, Adolescent Girl's Independent Living Program opened in late April. The program will serve eight girls who need a place to grow into successful adults. The young women in this program attend local school and have the opportunity to earn the privilege of holding a job, participating in after school sports and activities. They maintain contact with family, when appropriate, through on and off-site visits, passes, and agency provided family counseling and reconciliation work. Youth will be able to live at this home until they transition to college or other independent living.
